My paintings are pictures of things I see and read about, places I'd rather be - panels in a comic book autobiography.

Joe Clower was born in Norfolk, Virginia and currently lives and works in Denver, Colorado. Clower holds an MFA from the University of Colorado Boulder, and received a BFA from the University of Georgia, Athens. Clower is also a recipient of the Best UFO photograph of the year, in 1997 from UFO Magazine. Joe Clower's work is in several private and public collections, including the Eli Broad Collection and Warner Brothers Records.
