“In Transit is a body of work is about transitions, mobility, and transportation. These images communicate transitory moments of place, depict a moment in time via movement of natural elements, and elaborate upon modes of transportation. Initially, I was drawn to the shape of windows—seeing them as temporarily occupied vessels of time and space during a transitory passage. The nature of temporary translates into other arenas besides travel however. All works in this series, whether specific to geography, personal biography, or voyage, suggest movement, or a temporary position, en route to something else—the inside traveling out, point a to point b, beginning a new life or moving to a new location. The in-between nature of transition perhaps addresses larger questions about relocation and the path which is more significant, the destination or the process?”
