MARY EHRIN

I am inspired by a feminine sensibility to express my personal creative vision. Beyond ideas of glamour and beauty, I am intrigued with creating drama and intimacy, how to create intimate contact with the viewer. By inviting an emotional response, cognitive ignition can occur, producing ideation, thought and memory.

Ehrin's work has been exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Denver, Boulder, and Miami, with solo exhibitions at RULE; "Feather Paintings" (1999), "Fabulous Savage" (2002), BMOCA "Town and Country" 2007 and SCOPE Contemporary Art Fair "Bad Monkey Island," and group exhibitions including "EXTENDED REMIX" at MCA/Denver (2006), & "RETROSPECTACLE," selections from the permanent collection of the Denver Art Museum.

She was named one of the best painters in American graduate schools by Lisa Dennison, Chief Curator, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, in a national competition by The Open Studios Press in 2002.
