MARGARET NEUMANN

Painting is an exploration for Margaret
Neumann. Her paintings define a space that hovers between two and three dimensions. Although Neumann paints images with a psychological subject matter, she is primarily interested in the process of paint, the discovery
of form, and the sensuality of surface.

Neumann was born in New York in 1942.
In 1960 she entered Colorado College in Colorado Springs and studied with the late
Mary Chenoweth. Neumann left Colorado College after two years and went to Columbia University for a summer session. She then returned to complete her BFA in 1964 at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she also earned an MFA.
